Kraft Heinz recalls contaminated beverages:

The company said on Friday that it was recalling about 5,760 cases of Capri Sun Wild Cherry.

The issue was discovered after it received "several consumer complaints" about the products' taste.

In a statement, Kraft Heinz said that a cleaning solution used to treat food processing equipment was "inadvertently introduced into a production line at one of our factories."

The company didn't reveal how many total pouches have been recalled. However, each case has four cartons with ten pouches, totaling about 230,000 individual pouches possibly being affected.

Best When Used By date:

A customer who has purchased a possibly contaminated item may return it where it was bought for a refund.

The best used by date on the products is 25 June 2023, the company said in a statement.

Kraft Heinz can be reached at 1-800-280-8252 to "see if a product is part of the recall and to receive reimbursement," the company said, adding that it's "committed to upholding the highest safety and quality standards."

A spokesperson for Capri Sun GB said, "Kraft-Heinz, the Capri-Sun licensing partner in the US, has been mentioned in the media due to a voluntary recall of approximately 5,760 cases of Capri Sun Wild Cherry Flavored Juice Drink products. This is happening in the United States only and there is no risk of a serious health issue."

The spokesperson added, "Capri-Sun's produced in GB is made by a different manufacturer and are not impacted by the US recall in any way. At Capri-Sun, we're committed, as always to a high standard of quality, as the safety of our consumers is paramount."

The spokesperson continued, "If anyone does have concerns over their product, we encourage them to contact the relevant customer support line in the GB which can be found on the back of their Capri-Sun products."

Metal contamination:

Last week, about 13,000 pounds of frozen pizza made by Home Run Inn Frozen Foods were recalled because of potential metal contamination.

The pizza's meat topping "may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically metal," the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said in a statement Sunday.
