“We celebrated this gorgeous, amazing, beautiful, exquisite woman last night.” So began Michelle Stafford's Instagram post, in which she highlighted makeup artist Patti Denney, who is retiring from Young and Restless after 42 years. As Phyllis' portrayer continued, "I am at a loss for words.". "This woman is so precious to me.". Since the beginning of Young & Restless, she has done my makeup. Together, we have been through so much. She has always had my back. I've had hers. It's a relationship that I cannot describe." Denney and Stafford's friendship may have begun at the studio, but it hasn't ended there. Stafford said they still talked even when she wasn't on the show.

The last time she did my makeup at work, I couldn't get out of the makeup chair. It was impossible for me to leave. It is common for actors to move from one job to another. The people you meet during that job mean a lot to you, but you know it will end one day. We do it in a very particular way on our show. It's likely we'll see that person tomorrow. We have become a family since so many people have been there for so long. Patti is like a member of my family, "Always." Stafford concluded his message by sending a direct message to Denney. “Patti, I will miss you at work, but I am thrilled that you have found a wonderful partner in Mel. I wish you a long and happy life in the future. It would be my pleasure to commission you to paint a large painting for my home. Looking forward to seeing what you create in your life in the future! I cherish you."
