The Voice Season 22 auditions might not include Camila Cabello

Although Camila Cabello announced in May that she would join The Voice season 22 as a coach, the first day of filming is quickly approaching and she might have to sit out the first round of auditions. Singer Ariana Grande joined last season's singing competition and made some close connections with her teammates. Ariana announced in November 2021, about a month before The Voice season 21 finale, that she had been cast as Glinda in the Wicked film adaptation. This is Camila's first time playing the bubbly blonde from Oz, so she has taken over her role.

As Camila's announcement was made, Kelly Clarkson announced her departure from the show. Kelly finished her divorce in March and decided it was time to step aside after eight seasons on The Voice. Kelly Clarkson's talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, continues to receive Daytime Emmy nominations. There will be a void on The Voice without Kelly, but fans can look forward to Gwen Stefani's return, as she served as a coach during seasons 7, 9, 12, 17, and 19. As a coach, Shelton will join her husband, "Hollaback Girl" singer Blake Shelton, who they met on the show.

She may send someone else to take Camilla's place when she's getting ready to start filming the auditions. A TikTok video revealed that Camilla tested positive for COVID-19 and that if she does not get better by next week, she will not be able to sit with her fellow coaches during The Voice auditions. She also showed off the Halls defense cough drops, chest rub, DayQuil, and NyQuil she's using to beat the illness during her performance of Pitbull's "Watagatapitusberry." When asked how she was dealing with the illness, the singer responded, "I'm getting the rona.".

On July 27, Mjsbigblog reports, that The Voice season 22 Battle Rounds will begin filming. Camila may not be able to film the Battle Round mentor tapings because those are also filmed fairly early because of Camila's diagnosis. Hopefully, the singer will continue to rest and obtain a negative COVID-19 test before filming begins. It will be important for her to take a page from Kelly's book if she doesn't. "Breakaway" singer Kelsey Ballerini replaced her during an episode of season 20 due to illness. If Camila can't make it, perhaps her friend Taylor Swift or ex-boyfriend Shawn Mendes will.

The Voice would be a disappointment if Camila missed the start of filming for her first season. To keep everyone safe, the show follows protocols, and if Camila is not better by July 27, she will be forced to sit this round out. Unfortunately, Camila shouldn't be absent from the show for too long since she will be recovering soon. Upon recovering from her illness, she will do a great job coaching and mentoring The Voice contestants.
