The Grand Tour has a special place in our hearts, doesn’t it?? The adventures of the three nature lovers, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, have made us fall in love with adventure and wildlife.

After the squad of the three, Jeremy, Clarkson, and Richard, had moved on from Top Gear, everyone wondered what their next adventure would be. But soon after, The Grand Tour was announced by Amazon Prime and was very similar to Top Gear in many angles. The main difference which was very evident was the size of the budget given to the trio to spend per episode.

All thanks to the extra large sum of money that Clarkson, Hammond, and May were able to produce more exciting and bigger scale episodes than they had ever done. This also resulted in some special episodes and some never seen before ones.

The show has been going on for quite some time now, but there are some episodes of the show which will catch your eye as much as it has done for us.

So let’s look into some of the most interesting episodes of the adventurous trio led show.

1.The Salty adventures

The special episodes of Grand Tour are known for their outstanding creativity and newness that they bring to the table. The show along with being adventurous is also what we love to see which is Humor. The show involves a lot of hilarity as they often involve the presenters using old cars or available vehicles and placing them well outside of their comfort zone. However, in episode 11 of season 3, the trio Clarkson, Hammond and May broke away from that formula and bought 3 grand touring cars for a drive from Georgia to Azerbaijan.

And since there were a lot of real obstacles for the trio to face, the whole episode felt more interesting compared to their other adventures. There were a couple of more interesting highlights to the episode, such as when May broke Stalin's cupboard and the 'real world race.’  And of course, the stars of the episode were the cars, which looked absolutely amazing.

2. The Colombian adventures of the trio

This was the most interesting and special episode of the entire season 3. Episodes 2 and 3 of the season set the stage for what would come in the later seasons and episodes of the show. It was a traditional special in every sense of the word as Clarkson, Hammond, and May were given the simple task of becoming wildlife photographers.

The trio will entertain you to the best as they were in full form and made constant jokes about Colombia's trading export, as well as being useless at actually taking photographs.

There were many great moments in the episode which made it more interesting and fun to watch. One of them is when Clarkson's encounter with a group of people who liked donkeys, and the other is the trio’s attempts at photographing the animals.

There were also some highly dangerous obstacles that the threesome faced throughout the episodes, such as old broken bridges and hail storms, which made the episodes all the more adventurous and enjoyable.

3. The Seamen

This episode called “Seamen”  is among the most recently aired ones. "Seamen" was a welcome return to The Grand Tour, after the show had been off-air for almost a year. In its fourth season, the trio had decided to do something new with a special, giving the car element a goodbye and favoring the boats this time. Though this idea was risky and dangerous, the adventurous threesome managed to pull it off. It also helped in increasing the fact that the episodes of the show had been less about vehicles in recent years.

In this fun episode which marks the first for Season 4, Clarkson, Hammond, and May were given a challenge to have their journey across Cambodia and Vietnam by boat. The trio had loads of fun through it, and the episodes have lots of swearing, jokes, and basic faffing. It is one episode that is incredibly entertaining to watch, as the lads clearly had no control over their boats. Even Clarkson, who was the only one who remained enthusiastic about the challenge, struggled to keep his boat under control. It made for a truly great episode for the show’s start for Season 4.

4. The adventurous Buggy Boys

Who doesn’t love buggy rides??  Though season 1 of The Grand Tour had a fairly shaky start with its viewership, the show managed to grasp the hook of the audience in no time.

The episodes 7 and 8 of Season 1 were as shaky as the ratings of the show at that point. The main issue was that it was a car show done by Clarkson, Hammond, and May, yet it somehow had to be different from Top Gear. In this season, the show definitely did it with the differences. There were a lot of entertaining bits and fights which made the episodes much more interesting to watch.

The best episodes of the season by far were the two episodes dedicated to the Namibia special. This was the lads doing what they do best, and in this case, their best was racing beach buggies across a desert. Their banter was in top form, the scenery was amazing, and there were some genuinely heart-stopping moments. This was exactly what you want from a Grand Tour special.

5. The Buffoon’s Vacation

Episode 8 of Season 3 as well is one of the best when it comes to the Grand Tour. In this episode, Clarkson, Hammond, and May go on holiday in the United States in RV’s . But they do not want to share the RVs, and thus,  they each branch off and purchase their own RVs and modify them to their liking. May turns his RV into a pub, Clarkson transforms his RV into a toilet/speedboat hybrid and Hammond buys a van and makes it worse.

The episode is one of the most interesting ones among the many because the obstacles that come their way and all the things that go wrong with them will make one laugh till their bones hurt. The banter sessions that these three had together amidst all the chaos adds a midas touch to the episode.

6. Survival of the fattest

Almost every Grand Tour fan has this episode in their top five episodes of all time, if not at number one. The three boys pack off to Mongolia, and  on the border of the Gobi desert, are challenged to drive to the city of Mörön.

But the main obstacle arrives when rather than letting them pick their cars, the trio is asked to build their flat-pack car and are given only limited rations of food and drink to survive. The wild ride across deserts, swamps and rough terrain push the trio to their limit as they realise they’re going to either have to work together, starve or strangle each other.

7. Operation Desert

With the first season of Grand Tour, the audience were getting adjusted to the show’s different format. The first episode put the fears of the three at ease but the second episode had the unenviable task of introducing the traditional 'challenges' in a new light. The episode "Operation Desert Stumble" was the show's first attempt at showing Clarkson, Hammond, and May outside of the tent being stupid.

This episode definitely comes under the list of the most entertaining ones, as the trio had to rescue hostages and take them to the embassy while fighting off insurgents.
