Ryan Gosling's $32 self-tanner transformed him into Ken for the Barbie movie

As soon as the Barbie movie is released next July, I will be watching it with great anticipation. I really am. Isn't it crazy how there aren't any internet hullabaloos related to Barbie every five minutes? Yes, I agree. Even though I am looking forward to seeing Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling play America's plastic sweethearts Barbie and Ken, I could definitely do with a bit less teasing.  That said, I just learned some on-set tanning secrets that anyone with a pasty complexion and a tendency to burn will appreciate.

Kimberley Nkosi, the film's tanning artist, says two staple tanning products played a key role in giving Gosling his Ken look - both of which are inexpensive.  What made me curious about those two products? Here is what Ryan Gosling looks like when he isn't tanned. It's okay to be pale; I know that - but I can't help but admire Gosling's not-orange, not-streaky glow.

Prep It Self-Tan Priming Spray prepared the skin for a glowing effect followed by Self-Tanning Water from the Isle of Paradise.  It's likely that either of these products has gone viral on TikTok on multiple occasions if you're not a habitual self-tanner. While I have little knowledge of self-tanning - or tanning, in general - I might have to give this bronzing spray a try if it's good enough for Ryan Gosling and the people.
