In an interview with ABC's The View, Liam Neeson described his appearance as "embarrassing". On last week's US talk show, the actor promoted Marlowe, which is coming out in the fall. The neo-noir crime thriller Marlowe centres on John Banville's 2014 novel The Black-Eyed Blonde, which Neeson wrote and directed.
Putting her feelings into words
A montage of on-air moments during Neeson's segment on The View included Joy Behar expressing her crush on Neeson while making remarks about her feelings for the actor. In one such clip, she says she doesn't mind sprinkling her ashes over Liam Neeson. A co-host joked that Joy was looking for someone to take her.
When Neeson joined the show, he found the topic of discussion changed dramatically, which disappointed him. He said he turned on the TV as he sipped tea in the dressing room, thinking, "Oh, this will be great. They're talking about gun violence in America, which I agree is an American problem."
Sunny Hostin's brief comments
When the ladies were on stage, I congratulated them on this conversation." In the next segment, Neeson continued, "There's just all this BS with Liam Neeson and Joy, and I know Whoopi for years and Joy a little bit, but it didn't impress me at all."
The actor responded, "I'm uncomfortable in those kinds of situations. A brief discussion with Sunny Hostin followed the completion of Neeson's segment, which Neeson described as "good, intelligent." Nonetheless, he said he was "interested" in GoldenEye until Richardson discouraged him from taking the role.
