The 2018 American computer-animated holiday fantasy comedy movie The Grinch was released by Universal Pictures and was made by Illumination.
It is the third cinematic version of Dr. Seuss' 1957 novel How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, after the 1966 television special acted by Boris Karloff and the 2000 live-action feature-length film starring Jim Carrey.
It is the second Dr. Seuss adaptation by Illumination after The Lorax (2012). Michael LeSieur and Tommy Swerdlow wrote the movie's screenplay, directed by Scott Mosier and Yarrow Cheney. Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy produced it.
The Grinch Storyline

The Grinch lives alone in a cave on Mount Crumpet with his devoted dog, Max. His biggest cause of annoyance is when his Whoville neighbors celebrate Christmas and do it in a loud and boisterous manner.
The angry Grinch realizes there is only one way to find peace when the Whos resolve to make Christmas larger and brighter. With Max's assistance, the green grump devises a plan to impersonate Santa Claus, steal Christmas, and permanently end the Whos' festive spirit.
