The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards is facing major backlash. It was revealed on Monday that Kyle, 53, was discussing a recent interaction that Erika Girardi had with Garcelle Beauvais' teenage son Jax with her husband Mauricio Umansky, as well as Dorit Kemsley and her husband Paul."Did you guys miss when Erika told Garcelle's 14-year-old son to 'f— off'?" Kyle laughed as she asked her friends in the clip. "It's not funny, but it is."

"It's great that she did that," Mauricio, 52, said. In an earlier preview clip, Jax went to pick up flower arrangements after Garcelle's birthday party. "What are you doing here?" Erika, 50, asked the teen when he approached the table where she and Dorit were sitting. Her next words were, "Get the f- out of here.". Getting into trouble is not an option.RHOBH cast member Crystal Kung-Minkoff, who walked Jax away from the women and back to his mother outside, was shocked by the encounter as well." These ladies are drunk and joking around," Crystal said, as Dorit, 45, wrote in her confessional, "but that is Garcelle's 14-year-old son. I feel sick to my stomach." My mom just confronted Erika after I grabbed flowers," Jax later said to his mother.

Kyle told Mauricio, Dorit, and Paul that she liked seeing Erika's "more relaxed side" in the preview clip. As she confessed, "I remember when I first met Erika, I used to think, 'I wish she would open up more. I wish she would loosen up a little bit.' It's clear that the Erika we've always known held a lot in, so even if she's not always showing her best side, it's genuine."Fans slammed Kyle for her lighthearted reaction to Erika cursing at Jax after the clips were released. According to a Twitter user, "Unless Erika was joking, I don't get how Kyle and Dorit think that's ok. That's so disrespectful and inappropriate. If Erika told Dorit or Kyle's child to F off, they'd be outraged!! Time for Garcelle to put Erika in her place I don't care if Erika was joking or not - it wasn't ok and there is nothing to laugh about. These two wouldn't find it so funny if it was at their children. Dorit even said it."

Kyle's rep did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment. Kyle spoke with Metro U.K. about the issue on Tuesday. She told the outlet, "I didn't even see Erika say that, I was told the next day.". She later explained, "I was laughing at a friend's drunken behavior, nothing to do with disrespecting anyone's child. I have four daughters. If I had seen it, I would have acted differently." She continued, "But when you hear a story like that, you're like, 'Oh my God!' Sometimes I laugh at the wrong moments, but it wasn't about Garcelle and her son, it was about Erika," she explained. I heard a story the next day, 'Oh my God, they were so drunk, they did this and that and we laughed. It was like that when you're not used to seeing that."

"If someone misinterpreted it as that, that I didn't care about someone's child and being flippant about it... I hope after 12 years on this show people know me better," she concluded, adding that she would contact Garcelle as soon as possible. She responded after a fan tagged her in a tweet containing the clip, asking if she had seen it already. "I haven't seen this scene until now," she wrote. On Instagram, the actress shared a photo of her three sons with the caption, "This is an appreciation post for Oliver, Jax, & Jaid."
