David F. Sandberg shared his thoughts on the reasons behind deleting some scenes from Shazam! Fury of the Gods on social media. Sandberg addressed three scenes that landed online Fans responded to tweets in a series. As Shazam began to fight Kalypso, a crowd began cheering for him, and then he sang to rally the crowd, Bonnie Tyler sang "Holding Out for a Hero."
Body double of Jack Dylan Grazer
According to Sandberg, there is more to Shazam! Fury of the Gods in the theatrical cut. As Jack Dylan Grazer's Freddy Freeman ran toward the camera with the Wizard, he had a double body stand in his place as Helen Mirren's Hespera caught him. As Grazer was a minor at the time, his hours of availability were limited. Without Sandberg's revelation, audiences would have had trouble noticing the change.Add Block

Shazam 2 Scenes with Two Freddys
It is possible to spot two versions of Freddy Freeman in a scene in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, where Freddy Freeman is trapped with the Wizard in a dungeon. Sandberg revealed another interesting secret from Shazam! Fury of the Gods involving Grazer's Freddy. In one version, Freddy is portrayed as the one the audience is most interested in, while his appearance appears in the background. Guards lead Freddy and the Wizard toward the daughters of Atlas in the background. In this case, Sandberg chose another scene because he wanted guards to enhance the scene's setting, and no CG guards were available.
Fear of losing Billy's family
A need for Angel's Billy in Shazam! Fury of the Gods was the only thing the original Shazam! Lacked. The original Shazam! Showed Billy Batson in human form in more scenes, and Angel was the character who displayed the highest level of emotion as the dual character. A poignant moment in the sequel to Billy's abandonment trauma was the acknowledgment that his foster mother was his true mother, continuing from the original. Billy's fear of losing his family, particularly as he becomes an adult and ages out of foster care, would have been further captured in this deleted scene.
