A defamation trial verdict in which Amber Heard and her ex-husband Johnny Depp were found to have lied about one another has been appealed against by Amber Heard. Her latest movie, which has raised the stakes on Twitter, is said to be an attempt to ignite the bonfires on Twitter that were ignited by the court's "errors".

She and her lawyers sent a statement to the press saying: "We believe there were errors by the court, which prevented the court from rendering a just and fair verdict consistent with the First Amendment."

Accordingly, we have appealed the verdict. There are steps we need to take today to ensure both fairness and justice, even though we understand today's filing will ignite some Twitter bonfires."

Johnny Depp's spokesperson released a statement to say that the jury took into account the extensive evidence presented during the six-week trial and reached a unanimous verdict that the defendant herself had defamed Mr. Depp on several occasions during the trial.

"Our confidence in our case remains intact, and we believe this verdict will stand.
