There is no surprise in the fact that developments have worked out poorly for the fugitive witches in this case. Whether they were better off or worse off was the big question at the end of Motherland: Fort Salem Season 3 Episode 3. The Bellweather Trio, especially the two Tarim, were unprepared for life on the run. Raelle was at least aware of Dodger culture in The Cession. Raelle was unavailable to provide her perspective because Mycelium Mom Willa was treating her condition. Nice's first instinct is to attack, which is not the best strategy when you're outgunned overseas. Scylla was forced to take the lead because Nicte's first instinct is to attack. Neither when a young team member is missing. Scylla and Nicte were forced to split up so that the others could search for Khalida while the marshals were distracted. Scylla didn't have enough Salva for everyone, so they couldn't stay together. However, being decoys while the prize targets, Abigail and Tally, escaped was the right decision. There was a major obstacle in the form of Scylla and Nicte's strong personalities and their inevitable disagreements. Furthermore, Scylla spent too much time trying to reach Raelle when she should have been looking over her shoulder for the marshals.

As a result, Scylla, already on edge, and Nicte, lacking in people skills, ended up brawling, so the marshals didn't even have to sneak up on them. They were able to determine how Horse tracked them, following their work, and diverted him once or twice. In the long run, that was too little, too late. After capturing the experienced fugitives, the marshals would be able to pick up the trail and follow the newbies, who had no idea how to keep moving. Watching Adil try to levitate on Salva was hilarious. There would have been similar magic in the Tarim. Upon hitting the solid ground and getting his hands on the magical Tarim compass, he was much more steady. Khalida's quick departure from them surprised him. But how could we pinpoint Khalida's exact location? Imagine if they had someone who could see into the future. Yes, that's right! Tally was there. She has strong powers, but they are erratic at best. Every time she uses them, she warns about the results. It was a good thing they worked this time. Khalida was at a roadhouse, exactly where you'd expect young preteen escaping marshals to be. Khalida is an old soul in a young body, as we all know. Who knows how much magical knowledge she has that has not yet been tapped into? She may play a significant role in the upcoming war with the Camarilla. One would expect to find a roadhouse in The Cession. Patrick Swayze wasn't there, but there was a big surprise. Where else would a resurrected Sarah Alder turn up than at a Cession road house slinging shots at her former soldiers? It makes perfect sense now. Alder's visit to the roadhouse was even freakier. Elayne, the dive's singer, didn't know she was a witch but had been using stolen songs for decades.

The first song had somehow gotten into the hands of this collector of magical trinkets, and Alder wanted it back. Why is that? Probably crucial to the upcoming war with the Camarilla. The fact that it is in Tally's pocket probably isn't a good sign. Elayne possessed some skills. The fugitive witches danced to her song, snapping out of it when the music ended. After seeing Alder alive again, Tally reverted to her former stuttering self. Eventually, they were back to searching for the missing song in Elayne's trailer. The witches were caught, except for Alder, who disappeared. What happened to Elayne after she was killed and her voice box removed? Are there any Camarillas among the marshals? Since Horse took his captives to a mansion instead of a jail, whose side are the marshals on President Wade was brought up to speed about all the Camarilla hidden in her administration by Anacostia and Izadora. It was obvious Wade wasn't long for this world when she moved up her address to out them. Using the old camera crew trick again, the Camarilla snuck in. Wade sure looked hurt after that explosion. Does this mean Camarilla V.P. Silver will be promoted immediately? The witches' situation is getting worse if that is the case. The star of Hearst continued to fall among the Camarilla. As he stumbled back to his office/hideout, Kara reprimanded him for making Camarilla look bad.
