Kara, 29, and Guillermo, 23, met in the Dominican Republic while Kara traveled the world for work. Long-distance relationships weren't for them, but they stayed in touch. She moved to the Dominican Republic and married Guillermo after they started living together. A nine-month period after the pandemic, Kara and Guillermo returned home to Virginia. They had 90 days to get married in the U.S.

Misunderstanding of the couple

The season was marked by a lot of disagreement between Kara and Guillermo. In Guillermo's opinion, Kara sometimes treated him as if he were a child, lacking respect.

As Kara's wishes for a small courthouse ceremony and a more significant celebration later were overruled, Guillermo's interest in a larger wedding frustrated her. It was Kara's cheating history and her partying lifestyle that raised some red flags in their relationship.

The unexpected happening

Season 9 of 90 Day Fiancé also featured a few sweet moments between the couple. In one instance, Guillermo was informed that his brother had died unexpectedly and devastatingly. They compromised on their wedding plans to get Kar's mind off things and have a day at the rodeo together.

In Sunday's episode of 90 Day Fiancé, Guillermo and Kara tied the knot despite getting cold feet a few days beforehand. The couple held an intimate ceremony at a German beer hall's event space.

The Dominican Republic was Guillermo's home, so his family could watch the wedding live. His late brother was also remembered with a flower display. A new episode of 90 Day Fiancé airs every Sunday at 8 PM in the East on TLC.
