As a result of their highly televised defamation trial, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's private lives came to the forefront. During the trial, the former couple ensured each other did not feel the other had any chance of putting him down. Among the many revelations, Depp's spending habits were widely discussed.

Their relationship began while they were on the set of the film The Rum Diary in 2011 and continued through 2012. They married in 2015, but Heard filed for divorce the year after. Their divorce was finalized in 2017.

A year before Captain Jack was in court to defend his financial manager against accusations of defamation against Amber Heard, the Pirates of the Caribbean star had sued his financial manager for defamation.

After working with him for 17 years, Depp fired and sued his financial manager and the Management Group for defrauding him. According to the actor, the company countersued him, alleging the actor spent his own money. Depp then demanded $25 million in return.

Spending habits remained the same

According to The Management Group, Johnny Depp was also accused of spending $4 million on a record label, $18 million on a yacht, and $75 million on 14 different homes. Depp's lavish lifestyle and luxurious hobbies, including wine drinking, also allegedly caused them to deal with them. Although the actor's marriage failed, his spending habits didn't seem to change.

Depp's former financial manager also discussed his spending habits during the defamation trial. Johnny Depp and The Management Group agreed to a settlement a month before the trial began, Variety reported. Depp is currently living in rural England and taking a break from the spotlight.
