Couple's Debut

When the reality series Vanderpump Rules debuted in 2013, fans first got to know Tom Schwartz, 39, and Katie Maloney, 35. As they became engaged two years later, the couple's ups and downs were still being recorded.

They got married twice while they were on the program, once in California in 2016 and once in Las Vegas in 2019 owing to previous paperwork complications.

Divorce

Katie and Tom divorced about four months ago, as we previously reported. Since then, they have been upfront about parting ways, including by selling the house, as they both believed it would be too much for them to keep separately in terms of both physical and financial maintenance.

 After Divorce

Tom and Katie accepted a $2.595 million offer on Tuesday; although the deal hasn't been finalized yet, it is almost certainly going to happen. The house was initially advertised for $2.75M last month, but the price was later reduced by roughly $150k.

What's in their house?

The next owner will be able to enjoy all the amazing amenities of the house, including the stunning outdoor pool, patio, and backyard spa. It has roughly 3,500 square feet of living area, 4 bedrooms, and 5 bathrooms.

Katie's Insta Post

In an attempt to convey to her followers how difficult it was to part with the property, Katie once used Instagram to write, "I hate good-byes. And this one is really painful. It's challenging to pinpoint the words and feelings. My life's chapter being closed makes me feel as though I'm going to my own funeral."

Maloney said goodbye to the house in the Valley Village section of Los Angeles and expressed gratitude for the memories she and Schwartz had made there over the previous three years.

"Gratitude"

"Thank you house for being the coziest brightest home, for the memories, for being my sanctuary, for letting me dress you up like a hallmark movie set at Christmas, and for being OURS," she added. "I’m going to miss coming home."

Ending the relationship

Maloney talked about ending her 12-year relationship on an episode of Lindsey Metselaar's podcast We Met at Acme that aired in April."I had been expressing my feelings," Maloney recalled, "where I felt that my needs weren't being addressed and where I thought I was being harmed by some of the behavior."

"I don't think he resonated, understood, or agreed."Several weeks later, Maloney said she hadn't gotten any sort of understanding from Schwartz, and "I decided that I had wanted to get a divorce."

Negative Impact

Maloney acknowledged that she "truly thought that we were going to make it work," but dealing with their marital problems and focusing all of her attention and energy on it had a negative impact on her mental health.
