During Elon Musk's takeover, Celebs Stay on Twitter

Elon Musk purchased the company

Several celebrities have announced their intention to stay with Twitter even after Elon Musk purchased the company for $44 billion. People are staying to stand up for free speech, while others see it as an opportunity to push Musk in a certain direction. He's expected to take over fully in six months after the board unanimously approved Musk's takeover bid on Monday. The platform has already been abandoned by some celebrities, reportedly protesting Musk's takeover.

Justin Bieber tweeted last year

Musk openly commented on how many celebrities and biggest accounts were leaving Twitter, while Justin Bieber only tweeted once last year. The following notable people are staying on Twitter for the foreseeable future. George Takei, the actor, and gay activist gave a bold statement to his 3.3 million followers. Twitter was discussing Takei leaving, but he tweeted that he would not be leaving. Takei pledges to rise even higher if this place becomes more toxic if reason, science, compassion, and the rule of law are challenged. Fighting fascism, misinformation, and hate requires all hands on deck. I hope you fight right alongside me."

Donald Trump may return to the platform

Rob Reiner (This Is Spinal Tap) shared his concern over Musk's takeover with his followers on Twitter. Wenn Reiner lets someone use this platform to spread lies and disinformation to overthrow the government, how will we stop them? Donald Trump may return to the platform, but Reiner implies he will stay by asking how they will combat him. Azealia Banks is still suspended from Twitter after being accused of racist and homophobic remarks against Zayn Malik and young actress Skai Jackson.

Ice T provides perspective at a time when many were declaring their intention to leave Twitter. Ice T said he needed to reconsider his priorities "if getting off social media would ruin his life". Kevin Jonas, one-third of the Jonas Brothers, also appears not to be leaving Twitter. Jonas asked Musk, "Will we get the edit tweet option?" after Musk previously said he would add a button to edit previously sent tweets.

Jessica Kirson's blue-ticked  leaving Twitter

Jessica Kirson's blue-ticked account also addressed leaving Twitter.  Kirson made her stance clear, even in a joking manner, during the debate over leaving Twitter. "I'm still on Twitter and antidepressants," Jessica said. David Weissman, a U.S. Army veteran who is not a celebrity in the entertainment sense, provided advice on how to deal with Musk's "propaganda. " According to Musk, the best way to get back at him is to "stay on and refute misinformation." He added, "We fight back and stay on."
