Carlin Bates, star of Bringing Up Bates, is recovering after passing out on security footage as she battles an unknown condition. Carlin's health was revised in a video posted on her and her husband Evan Stewart's YouTube channel. Layla Rae, their daughter born in January 2020, also made an adorable cameo.

About  Carlin Bates

Carlin Brianne Stewart (née Bates) is the ninth child and fifth younger sister of Gil and Kelly Bates.

Along with her siblings

Carlin and her siblings were homeschooled as children. Her siblings and she were raised as active members of Bill Gothard's Research center in Basic Life Principles, and she and her sibs did attend the yearly Extensive Training Institute meetings in Big Sandy, Texas.

While in high school

She attended dual enlistment classes at the local college while in high school (likely Crown College of the Bible's Early Additional benefit program). In 2016, she and her brother Trace graduated from high school around each other. Carlin started planning and hosted a graduation party at Mount Moriah Camp, which was accessible to the general public. At the party, Erin, Lawson, Tori, and Carlin performed Rebecca J. Peck and Mark Lanier's song "All Along."

Carlin begins by telling the audience

Carlin starts off by telling fans that she's been "sleeping more" even though "this last event that took place really wiped me," referring to her most recent fainting spell. Carlin explains that while in labor with her and Evan's son, whom they welcomed in March, she starts to pass out, which she had never done before but continues to face within a week of his birth.

She says

"I began experiencing what they think are seizures," she says. "I suddenly felt strange, had a loss of vision, headaches, and passed out."

Carlin asserts

Carlin claims that after testing and consulting with doctors, she discovered she had "an underlying issue" since birth, and that going into labor with her second child triggered the condition. Nonetheless, the couple claims Carlin's doctors are unsure of the source of the problem.

The pair first posted a video

The couple recently uploaded a video of her collapsing in a shop. Carlin is clearly unaware in the video, lying with her eyes closed and her head moving around. Doctors later advised her to "get back on the medication," but she fell unconscious once more after only a week.

Evan says

Evan and Carlin were at a Vacation Bible School event in their church's entrance hall when "the big somebody'' occurs. "

Carlin recalls

Carlin remembered telling a friend a few days before, "My head feels really weird," but she assumed it was just the medication.

Carlin describes passing out as "completely unexpected." "I just remember trying to get out of the conversation and then losing it. Everything seemed to be slowing down."

Her friends say

Carlin was speaking to other people at the time, according to her friend, when she struggled to find the words she wanted to use. Carlin, she recalls, fell over her son's car seat, trying to hit her head on the concrete.

Carlin continues

"'I literally saw your head rebound off the concrete," our pastor's wife said. Evan continues, "Her doctor explained she had a head trauma."Before concluding the video, he says Carlin will obtain the outcomes of recent heart tests and other assessments as doctors try to figure out what's starting to cause her seizures.
