Actor Gary Friedkin, known for 'Star Wars', passed away at the age of 70 from COVID complications

Gary Friedkin passed away.  An actor from Star Wars and Happy days breathed his last after developing COVID and spending more than three weeks in intensive care. He was 70.

An obituary stated that Friedkin passed away Last Friday, December 2 his brother Alan and his sister-in-law Carol were by his side as he passed away “peacefully” at hospice care in Ohio. Due to COVID-19 difficulties, he spent three and a half weeks in the medical intensive care unit at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Friedkin is well-known for his performances as an Ewok in 1983's Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi and for his three-episode arc as Clarence on Happy Days in 1982.

Additionally, he received credit for the films Young Doctors in Love and Cool World

Friedkin's most recent project was Mother's Day in 2016, and he has appeared on programs including Chicago Hope and The Practice.

In the obituary, Gary's loved ones stated that he "was born to entertain." He participated in a number of local and school bands while in high school, including the rock group The Solars.

He was a gift to everyone who knew him, they continued, and was a wonderful son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. "Gary never let the challenges he encountered stand in the way of living life to the fullest, making his family and many friends laugh nonstop. Many people have said that Gary made them smile, and many have their own unique "Gary tale.""

In spite of his diminutive size, Gary was a giant among his family and friends, according to his obituary. His legacy will endure as long as those who loved him continue to tell and retell his stories.

At Youngstown State University, the family established a scholarship in Friedkin's honor for "people with a disability or a concentration in the performing arts." In the spring, there will be a memorial service.

“The family requests your courtesy in maintaining their privacy at this time, and they urge everyone to get immunized and receive booster shots to safeguard their family and neighborhood”, according to the obituary.
